Dental Bridges & Tooth Repair
What are Dental Bridges ?
Dental bridges are used to fill in gaps between your teeth. If you have missing teeth, you'd be a perfect candidate for a dental bridge. There are several types of bridges to choose from:
-
Traditional bridges - the most common type of dental bridge which literally bridges the gap of a lost tooth by securing two crowns on on either side.
-
Cantilever bridge - used to replace a tooth that doen't have supporting teeth on either side of the affected area.
-
Maryland bonded bridge - also called a resin-bonded bridge. Artificial teeth and gums are supported by a metal frame.
How long does it take for a Dental Bridge to be put in?
Normally the procedure requires only three visits to our office.
-
On the first visit involves preparing any teeth that will be supporting the bridge. This is done by shaping them to make enough room for the device and crowns to fit properly.
-
On the second visit we bond the crowns to the supporting teeth, and molds are taken for the new dental bridge.
-
On your third and last visit, your new dental bridge is attached to the supporting crowns.
Your new smile is complete!
